Additional Details
Weight (Example with foot mounts):
- Engine assembly with ignition, carburettors, air filters, fuel pumps, onboard starter, PTO flange 26,8 kg
- Exhaust System (2x230g Head Pipe, 2x440g 90°-bow, 2x3120g silencer) 7,6 kg
- Radiator with hoses, pump and coolant (2,5kg radiator 300x450x42mm, 0,4kg pump, 0,6kg hoses, 2,0kg water) 5,5 kg
- Total (without reduction) 39,9 kg
Patented Charged-Inlet Technology:
The new inlet concept has perspectives for use with different fuels, such as Jet fuels and hydrogen.
With an additional inlet air cooler the engine’s continuous power can be increased to 90-95% of peak power, and it has run successfully on Jet A-1 fuel. The porting system is also suitable for charging, especially when applying a novel charging concept (patent granted in Germany, China, India) USA is pending, which can further increase peak and continuous power to >40kW and also act as an altitude compensation.

Intake and Fuel System:
- Standard fuel supply is via float carburettors and diaphragm fuel pumps. This is very simple and reliable and hence still a preferred option especially for aviation engines.
- Low-cost flexible fuel injection system is also adaptable.

Ignition System Options:
- Available with two different ignition system can be mounted to the engine. One is a PVL Magneto system with a 4A alternator, the other is a SUS battery system with a choice of 16A and 23A alternators. The SUS system can also be set up with two separate controllers for increased redundancy.
- The starter is located next to the ignition for now, but its position can be varied as well.
Flexible Mounting Options:
- The D3 also offers a variety of options similar to the S3.
- Most applications in this power range require a direct connection of a gearbox.
- Adapting a clutch or damper to the engine is very easy due to the round centering feature and 4x mounting points on the balance weight flange.
